Breathing X

Breathing X is an ongoing artistic research project exploring breathing as the first bodily function of architecture.

Rather than treating buildings as static structures, the project investigates how breathing can transform architecture into a bodily presence that exists across different places, communities, and timescales. Through site-specific installations combining light, movement, machine learning, and public participation, each work explores how a building might begin to breathe as a living bodily presence.

The project has evolved through site-specific installations including Breathing Clocktower and Breathing Nakanojo, while current research focuses on physical breathing membranes, computational simulations, and machine-generated breathing patterns for future architectural installations.
