Public Communication Sculpture

As an artist, I would say "Project" means a series of artworks to be created to share the vision of the project . But it does not describe it well. For example,"Public Communication Sculpture" consists of several self-organized exhibitions in public spaces. The project includes more than my artworks but other artifacts that artists, designers, composer and engineers who participated. The vision of the project led all of us to certain direction and motivation is created when we all find we share something worth to project to outside of the project members.

Not only the creation of each artwork itself but all the trials in whole process of the project asks society that what the vision of project means in the "real world". Then the project will be done when the real meaning of the vision is found and when the vision and experiences become to have a power which is enough to convince the world.

Workshops on the mobilephones:

Mobilephones as a basic material to figure out our curent situations around communication

The workshops provide the participants several programs to explore the possibilities of understanding the mobile phone and its network system and/or the situations when we communicate in daily life. The Mobile phone as everyday communication device is turned to be a tool and materials in this workshops. The experience, which will be created throughout the workshops will raise variety of questions and discussions from political, spacial and perceptual points of view.

This project is done as a part of "The invisible Landscapes" project, held in Malmo, Sweden at Summer of 2003.

[Part 1:Flow of information]

Workshops of communication:
2003-
Before talk about "new way of communication", we should think about what old ones are.

We are in communication and technology era. Day by day, new instrument for communication was invented and put into market. Not only Designers and Artists are needed to understand these machines and issues but also we, not a specialist for communication technology.

It seems new instrument come with new model of communication. But is it really new way of communication? How could we compare these ones with old ones? Once I ask myself to what is our old, traditional way of communication, it is difficult to define it. We always feel some conflict when we face to new machines, but we normally would not define our old way of communication. We do it without thinking, but would not define it.

The aim of the workshops are to make sure our present status of communication. Audience or participants will see or experience some particular situation on theater or workshop place. They will have dynamic and thoughtful experience through this theater play and workshop will give it through their body.
