In modern city a type of urban spaces are being created. A type which let us tend to ignore the others. The goal of the research is to recreate such urban space to a space which let us aware of each other. The latter space gives us more safe in terms of social and emotion. We use controllable urban lighting as a tool to let urbanites present, show up and hence afford social interaction among them. We call the light Openlight which will be added onto existing urban space. This research creates prototypes and validate if it works as intended.
Open Light：人々を繋ぐエンターテイメントとしての都市照明
現代の都市では、他者を意識しない空間が作り続けられている。本研究のゴールは、この空間を他者を意識する空間に作り変える事にある。その結果得られるものは、誰もが顔見知りになる空間であり、それは心理的、社会的に安全で、感情的に質の高い都市空間になる。作り替える方法は、自立分散的にコントロールできる都市照明を使い、都市空間の利用者の自己表現の機会を促し、また、利用者同士の相互のアクションを促す、オープンライトと名付ける概念（コンセプト）による都市照明によるもので、既存の都市空間に付加され、都市機能の一部として実現される。本研究では、この概念によるプロトタイプを制作し、他者を意識する空間を作れたかどうか、その効果を検証する。
